What is a codicil?
A codicil is merely an amendment to your Last Will and Testament.
Since a codicil requires the same signing formalities as a will, it is given the same authority as a will.
By using a codicil, a person can make quick and easy changes or corrections without the expense of completely revising their last will and testament.
It is also possible to have more than one codicil to a will.
As a result, your last will and testament must be read together with all of its subsequent codicils as one jumbo document.
But keep in mind, if you have too many codicils with too many changes to people or property, you may be better off starting over and completely redoing your last will and testament to avoid any possible confusion or misinterpretations of your testamentary wishes and desires.
